On the 4th of March 2019, CUTS hosted a regional civil society strategy meeting in preparation for the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in 2019 that was held in New York from 11- 22 March. This regional convening in Zambia was held in an effort to agree on a regional position on women in the informal sector’s access to social protection. The outcomes of this meeting were presented at the CSW as well as various other forums at national, regional and global levels to amplify women’s voices on this issue. The main outcome of the event was to develop a common advocacy position and policy recommendations with key messages that will be used to lobby governments prior to and during CSW63
