Revised FRA Act should address challenges

Lusaka, December 07, 2017

The Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) says Government’s plan to review the operations of the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) will provide an opportunity to address key challenges associated with the agency.

Recently, Government announced that it would review the FRA Act Chapter 225 of the laws of Zambia to improve the agency’s operations.

In a statement availed to the Daily Mail yesterday, CUTS Lusaka centre coordinator Chenai Mukumba said the revised Act should address the over-dependence on government funding, high operating cost and unsustainable subsidies.
