Lusaka, November 15-17, 2023
21 women from Mazabuka’s district Kaleya and Zambia compound participated in a two-day Community to Community Exchange program in Lusaka as part of the Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) program, organized in collaboration with WWF, SSN, SDI, and CUTS International.
CUTS and WWF are actively implementing the VCA program in Mazabuka district to amplify the voices of local civil society organizations (CSOs) and grassroots movements in the climate space, fostering a pathway towards a just transition.
Recognizing the potential for mutual learning, the alliance seized the opportunity to connect the women of Mazabuka and Lusaka. SSN played a pivotal role in facilitating this exchange, fostering collaboration between the two women’s groups as part of the VCA learning agenda.
On November 15, 2023 the women left Mazabuka for Lusaka and on 16th November explored the vibrant Kanyama Green Space. They concluded their enriching program with a visit to the George Compound Resource Centre on November 17th before returning to Mazabuka later that same day.
This exchange wasn’t just about sharing experiences; it was about building lasting bonds between communities and contributing to the collective efforts for just climate action.
