Consumer Unit and Trust Society embarks on media campaign ahead of AGOA Forum

Consumer Unit and Trust Society (CUTS) International Zambia has engaged in an aggressive media campaign ahead of the Africa Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) forum.

Zambia is set to host the AGOA forum in this year here in Lusaka under the theme “enhanced trade through increased competitiveness, value addition and deeper economic integration”.

CUTS International Zambia Executive Board Chairperson, Love Mtesa therefore says through the media campaign, his organisation will ensure that all economic sectors benefit from participating in the forum.

Mr Mtesa also says the forum will be an opportunity for Zambia to redeem itself in actively benefiting from the American market.

Meanwhile, government has highlighted the media’s cardinal role in economic development.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary, Sam Phiri has noted the media’s role in exposing the available business opportunities to potential investors.

Dr. Phiri has to this effect called on the media to raise public awareness on the AGOA forum as well as its benefits for the local business community.

He has also challenged the local media to stimulate international private sector interest in the Zambian economy.
