CUTS successfully hosted a multi-stakeholder meeting in Chongwe to establish a Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP) for the Urban Futures (UF) project. The objective of the MSP is to train members on project oversight and monitoring, develop an advocacy strategy and a community campaign budget, and partner with local authorities to allocate land for youth farming and innovation initiatives.
This initiative is dedicated to fostering inclusive, climate-resilient urban cities, empowering young people to voice their priorities, influence decision-making, and seize opportunities in the food sector. By promoting shorter value chains, the project aims to ensure access to healthy, sustainable, and affordable food.
During the workshop, participants collaboratively developed an implementation plan and a monitoring framework aligned with Chongwe’s vision and the project’s overarching goals.
This effort is part of the UF Project, a five-year initiative (2023-2027) led by Hivos Regional Office Southern Africa and the Botnar Foundation. The project seeks to establish inclusive, climate-resilient urban food systems, ensuring long-term sustainability and economic opportunities for young people.
