CUTS, in partnership with Kasisi, conducted a five-day training program aimed at equipping youth with skills in sustainable organic agriculture. The training held from September 23-27, 2024 covered key topics such as soil organic matter, composting, Bokashi and liquid fertilizers, green manure, intercropping, and crop diversification. Participants also explored the connections between climate change and sustainable farming practices.
This initiative is part of the Empowering Urban Youths through AgriUrban Connect project, implemented in Chongwe District, Lusaka Province, in collaboration with Hivos Regional Office Southern Africa and the Global Network Solutions. The project seeks to promote environmentally friendly agricultural methods while empowering young people to engage in sustainable food production.
