CUTS write to LWSC MD over lack of service

The Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) International has written to Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Managing Director over lack of service delivery.

In a letter availed to Muvi TV Business News CUTS International Zambian Centre Executive Board Chairman Love Mtesa says this comes following a letter written to his office by a resident of Luangwa, in Lusaka’s Garden compound.

Ambassador Mtesa says Mrs. Elizabeth Ngwenya complained over lack of service delivery which has been paid for months.

The letter reveals that Mrs. Ngwenya has not been receiving water supply since July 2010, but has been paying the bills. She says her visits to the company’s offices over the situation have been fruitless.

And ambassador Mtesa says visits to the company’s Kalingalinga office have also not yielded any positive results.

He has since questioned the water utility company on the billing system it uses for a service that is not being provided.

The letter has been copied to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Energy and Water Development, Executive Director, National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO), Executive Director, Zambia Competition Commission (ZCC) and the complainant.
