Food Safety Multi-Stakeholder Platform meeting

October 22, 2024

Food safety is vital for public health and a priority for Zambia’s agricultural and food industries, particularly in the fruit and vegetable sectors. With a complex supply chain, maintaining food safety requires collaboration from all stakeholders—government bodies, private sector players, civil society organizations, and consumers.

To strengthen Zambia’s food safety framework, the Food Safety Multi-Stakeholder Platform (FSMSP) convened in Lusaka on October 22, 2024. The meeting organized by CUTS in partnership with Solidaridad focused on the fruits and vegetable value chain. It offered a collaborative space for stakeholders to discuss policies, best practices, and the latest insights from regional and global perspectives to enhance food safety in Zambia.
